Over in Cleoland, isnât that the guy who always comes by the house with any petitions, nominations, appeals, etc.? I could swear Iâve seen him before. Nice touch having him think Columbus Day is about Columbus, Ohio. Cluelessness is funny when itâs fictional.
The other day I said I had lived in Cleveland as a childâŚ
Technically, it was a Cleveland suburb called Cleveland Heights.
If the motion comes to pass, would Cleveland Heights be included in the celebration of Cleveland Day, or would they have to petition for, and celebrate, a separate holiday?
Iâd hate to sign this petition, buy a Cleveland tree, to honor my old neighborhoodâŚ. and then find out my decorations were all wrong.
Â
And what about Shaker Heights? Would we let them join in?
Would Cincinnati want a day, too? What about Akron?
Would the Ohio Statehouse have to fly everybodyâs flag on the proper day?
Â
What if two cities serve mostly the same food⌠how could they distinguish their own holiday dinners?
I visited Cleveland once for a long weekend to see the last home game of the then Cleveland Browns before Art Modell shipped them off to Baltimore to become the Ravens. Unfortunately, the Brown lost to the Steelers 20-17. It was a sad day for the loyal fans of Cleveland.

Iâm looking at Sandra, wondering where in the world sheâs planning to use any abilities that require swim finsâŚ.
If youâre planning to swim down the drain, Sandra⌠your abilities wonât matter at all anywayâŚUnless you have the extraordinary ability to inhale hard, and reduce your girth to a 1/2" diameter.
In which case no.
Surely youâd do better dedicating it to science, or selling your skill to private industry, or ⌠I dunno⌠in the circus?
Â
Yesterday, I mentioned a strip in which J Van A demonstrated why there arenât many children on Ballard Street.
Finally found itâŚ. it has fewer kids in it than I remembered but the punchline is about rightâŚ
