I think the hook is insufficiency and some of the characters are aware of it and some are not, some are spiced with sadness and some with tremendous joy. The brilliance is in the pinpoint accuracy in every characters’ mimic and body language in combination with the absurd texts and situations. Humour is about surprising the brain.
