Heart: I've got a great idea, Dean! Dean: With sidewalk chalk? Heart: Yep! We're going to make a giant size, humongous board game! Dean: I though we were going to watch tv. Heart: My mom hid the remote.
There’s one advantage to growing up 40 years ago – remote control hadn’t been invented yet, so I never had that problem! (Of course, we only got three channels…)
If it’s going to be giant-size, humonous board game, hope its theme is something all the nighourhood kids can agree on: Heart’ll say Karlie, Dean’ll say “Star Wars”, one kid’ll say Monopoly, another kid’ll say Life, another kid’ll say…
When I was a kid remotes were not necessary…as long as one of us kids could get up and walk to the TV….3 channels by the way ABC NBC and Public Broadcast…which was only decent when they were doing a drive for more members….

I hid the three remotes on my wife. She could not figure out the knobs on the TV. Unfortunately she did not crack a book.

So THAT’S the trick to get them outdoors. Heart probably doesn’t have a computer.

My friend and I did this when we were kids. We made a Monopoly board around the block. The neighbors weren’t too happy about it.

Walk to the TV. Magically controls will appear there for you to work the TV.

mrprongs > Not always. There are TV-sets that can ONLY be operated by remote control.
