Heart is the main character (hence the title of the strip). The three main people with whom she interacts are her mom, Mrs. Angelini (the cook or housekeeper or whatever), and Dean. Heart’s best friend Kat appears from time to time, but not so much lately.
Dean is a fairly recent arrival; I can remember when he first appeared. But he’s a marvelous foil for Heart, and I think Mark Tatulli really enjoys him. Lately he’s been ALMOST as much a focus of the strip as Heart, but he isn’t quite “central”; think of Dean as the strip’s Kramer or Fonzi…
thanks fritzoid, it’s funny, i draw a strip where the main character’s next-door-neighbor is a lord of the rings/star wars geek as well, he is a lot like kramer, his character is a schemer who is often weird and the main character is often the accidental victim of his schemes. i did not copy this becuase i only found out about this strip yesterday! lol! if you guys would like a discription of my strip just ask.
I’m sure there isn’t an episode where the Harper Brothers do Berta’s bidding after having some fit. Not sure what Charlie’s nephew and Alan’s son (Jake) would be doing. Still be a screw-up maybe?
Also, only four people will know about the Dean-being-Heart’s-slave and the Dean-and-Heart-being-Mrs.-Angelini’s-slaves if they don’t say so once Heart’s mother gets home: 1) Heart, 2) Dean, 3) Mrs. Angelini and 4) the reader (pluralizing “reader” would make it more than four people to know about this).
