    I’m usually sympathetic to Calvin’s long-suffering mother, but not this time. Calvin has the right to carry his stuffed tiger anywhere he wants. But the owners of the dog who stole Hobbes don’t have the right to let their dog wander around unleashed, knocking over small boys.

    This mishap is not Calvin’s fault; it’s the dog’s owner’s fault. But Calvin’s mother is blaming him.
