oooooo this makes me feel old.
i love Calvin and hobbes
I wonder if he married Susie Durkins, and they were ‘blessed’ with a Calvin Jr.?

UR GROUNDED
I was 28 in 1988. I want my younger days back!!!
This is one of the rare Calvin And Hobbes strips that is very much a product of it’s time. Usually Watterson’s writing is timeless and universal. But by specifically mentioning the year in the strip he places the gag within a dated context.
I wasn’t even alive in 1988…. but I think Calvin and Hobbes are for readers of all age, and are still relevant 20 years later!
Dang…I actually remember this strip from back then. Sigh…getting old blows chunks!
The comic is still essentially timeless. Mentioning the year is merely a technical error.
