Every panel depicts such a perfect rendition of mood setting the scene. I love the multiple feet on Hobbes as he sneeks across the floor in the opening scene and the bounce arches in the first panel on the bottom right.
Oooh, Hobbes was sooooo mischievous. He attacked Calvin so excitedly. Not mention about violence. I love the first panel where Hobbes hid by the lamp. Hobbes popped out of the lamp and an invisible was on other side of lamp.
Marg. What is mojo? Is that kind of tall pole lamp with the shade that is called mojo? I thought it must be something word in Spanish. LOLs! Also, I laughed about the last panel. Calvin wished that he had a gerbil. LOLs!
I love the panels where Calvin is blissfully unaware about what’s waiting for him.
But when Calvin jumps off the school bus he looks almost happy, since when has Calvin had such a good day at school he comes home happy.
I love how in the 6th panel Calvins eyes are repeated over and over again. But how did Calvin jump so high in the 8th panel?

“Is Frazz http://news.yahoo.com/comics/frazz;
I don’t think he’s done by Bill Watterson?
an older Calvin?”
I can see why you wondered but, no, Watterson is happily retired and totally out of the picture. Lots of copycats trying to pick up where he left off it seems. Can’t blame ‘em for trying….but it can never be done.
i love calivns eyes in the 6th one and the whole thing. it is great. i have that problem with my dog. i get home and bam he hits me. this one is so great. i love it.
Wildmustang: Mojo is basically magic power, as in ‘I got my mojo working’. The cartoon ‘Pibgorn’ features a floor lamp where the evil guy has hidden one of the character’s mojo that he stole from her.http://tinyurl.com/5hfvvo
Alife: Jef Mallett is his own cartoonist in every sense of the word, but he has freely acknowledged to me that Watterson was one of the people who influenced him. I’ve always thought that Frazz was a lot like Calvin, all grown up, with a hefty dose of Adult Responsibility and all of the unbridled imagination.
stpatme and marg Thanks for defining the word, “mojo.” Now I get it clearly! Wink! ;-) I think my sister might have the mojo lamp that was from my mother’s great aunt in the Victorian era. But I was not sure.

I love how the artist drew panel 5, depicting the physical movement of Hobbes and Calvin’s surprise. Look at Calvin’s eyes! Great work!

One thing I love about these comics is that the characters never grow older. Somtimes I wish I could be one.
