JonD17, I love your comments on SOTU. And margueritem, youā€™re always welcome there, but mt will chew you up. But I wonā€™t give up to an abusive man like I did when I was younger. Iā€™m too set in my ways now. :D

Dad is a little bit too crude. He is ruining the delight with the day with no school!

Cā€™mon Dad, you also get up. You donā€™t have to go to work either. Take Calvin and go build some character.

Every kid knows that itā€™s easier to get up on Saturdays than it is on weak days. (apologies offered)

This is the reason they created condoms. One condom prevents a lifetime of headachesā€¦ā€¦especially if you wind up with a kid like Calvin.

Greypilgrim, kinda low! At least his dad has played with him once or twice in his life. The mom? I canā€™t remember her ever playing with Calvin, even onceā€¦

Makes me feel old. I remember trying to find cartoons on the weekends - no 24 hour cartoon stations back then :-)

I remember test patterns; very frustratingā€¦it was either that or the US Farm report. 7AM couldnā€™t come fast enough for me.

That test pattern looks like one from the 50s when TV was on for like three hours a day. Mine was a series of verical colored lines with a white box at the bottom and that irritating tone.

ā€œBattle of the Planetsā€ was not animeā€¦back then we called it ā€œJapanimationā€. there is a huge difference between BOP and the OLD Speed racer as compared to this new bleeep out nowā€¦(although i do like Shin Chan)

The last ā€˜toon I thought worth while was Mr. Bumpy! When you can come up with something to rival Rocky & Bullwinkle, Popeye (in b/w) or Clutch Cargo, then Iā€™ll consider watching it. Anyone remember Sally Star, Gene London or Wee Willy Webber?
