Makes me feel old. I remember trying to find cartoons on the weekends - no 24 hour cartoon stations back then :-)

I remember test patterns; very frustrating…it was either that or the US Farm report. 7AM couldn’t come fast enough for me.

That test pattern looks like one from the 50s when TV was on for like three hours a day. Mine was a series of verical colored lines with a white box at the bottom and that irritating tone.

I miss those days. I never woke up my parents though! Naughty Calvin, he’s such a boy! I guess my husband was like that as a kid. :p

Gee! 45 whole minutes!! Time for five or six bowls of Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs!!! With extra sugar!!!!

“Battle of the Planets” was not anime…back then we called it “Japanimation”. there is a huge difference between BOP and the OLD Speed racer as compared to this new bleeep out now…(although i do like Shin Chan)

The last ‘toon I thought worth while was Mr. Bumpy! When you can come up with something to rival Rocky & Bullwinkle, Popeye (in b/w) or Clutch Cargo, then I’ll consider watching it. Anyone remember Sally Star, Gene London or Wee Willy Webber?
