Sounds like the question we used to ask the kids when travelling. Why is that light on top of the tower? To show the top of the tower. Why is the tower there? To hold up the light.
But but âŠ..
The artwork is so M. C. Escher like - the contrast of light/dark and the reflection in the puddle. That just adds to the pathetic puzzlement of Calvinâs quandry.
I guess we donât have many gearheads here. Oh to experience the adrenaline rush of clipping an apex in full four wheel drift to straighten a curve while simultaniously executing a perfect toe-and-heel rev-matched downshift! To see a car as more then just an appliance to get from points A to B. Even Calvin appreciates the performance envelope of a finely-tuned spacecraft or F4 Phantom fighter jet. (Although he almost always crashes). Like JonD17, I think teenaged Calvin would have been a gearhead.
@Musicnut, I take it you saw my late response to your ponderment yesterday, good. My rushes used to come from a perfectly executed full throttle power shift that would pin ya to the seat back and make the rear end of my Old Catalina try to pass the front!
@Tabbylynn- What a beautiful Star-Gazer Lily you have chosen for your avatar!
Hey JonD17 and Musicnut1986 itâs more fun on 2 wheels. Sliding part way through an s curve with the front wheel turned into the next curve and the rear wheel just barely gripping then leaning over and sliding the rear wheel âtill itâs in line with the front wheel while you drop it a gear and give it some gas as you release the clutch. Awesome. My wife could never understand why I rode the 45 miles each way to work in western PA year round when we lived up there. Yeah being a gearhead on either 2 or 4 wheels is part of why we âliveâ our liveâs.
Well Macush: there was an article in 1992 in NYTâs magazine speculating about the result of an encounter between Charlie Brown and Calvin; perhaps that article could be dug-out, and Linus juxtaposed to replace Charlie BrownâŠ
BigmouthâIf your attitude pisses enough readers off, they just hit âFlagâ which brings it to the attention of the site managers to do what they think best. I donât recall you or your problem but Iâm not likely to forget you soon, thanks to your above comment.
I have to agree with grazer. please leave your hostilities away from this site. We the comic readers just come here to read and have a good time commenting on the comics here with our friends. AND THATâS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE. THANK YOU . And thank you grazer for sticking up to him. for the benefit of all of us. You are very brave. - your friend and fellow reader ladywolf17
To bigmouth I understood perfectly, I too have been flagged, but instead of signing up on a different name, I apologized to everyone including the GOCOMICS UCLICK staff and was given a second chance here. The people here are great and have made me feel welcome. I didnât mean to hurt your feelings, but you calling us Nazis sounded kind of racisism to me, thatâs all.
Bigmouth,
âRepublicanâ, âRightyâ, and âChristianâ. You have pretty much described me. I donât remember seeing postings by Kingof01, but you certainly came on quite strongly in your first post as Bigmouth. If you tone it down a bit and donât obviously try to step on others toes you should continue to post and maybe we can all have fun discussing C&H.
Bigmouth I have read your warning I donât know what you said that made people here angry enough to flag you and i dont want to know. You talk about freedom of speech but then you turn it into racisism calling us Natziâs. I understand that your angry about being censored so I wonât criticize you for your beliefs. But when you jump on my daughter and say she doesnât believe in freedom of speech well that makes me angry. we here are all proud to be Americans. And remember Itâs the soldiers both men and women fighting for us so we can have that right to free speech. And if Iâm not mistaken many of us here have served in the armed forces.

Except Lewreader, Linus doesnât worry as much as Calvin seems to (as he can always ponder with thumb-and-blanket, which Calvin seems to have lost)
