I still can’t figure out why dad lent Calvin his binoculars, knowing Calvin’s track record. Maybe they were old ones and he was testing Calvin’s ability to keep his word.
Lent is a period of 40 days where one practices abstinence from some activity or pleasure. In Calvin’s case he may have to abstain from sitting for 40 days.
hahahaha This comic strip is soooooooo funny. I have every book. I have a 4 year old son now and his middle name is Calvin because of this strip.
I gotta tell ya, he lives up to that middle name. UUGGGGGGGG! hahaha I just had to name him after a 6 year old that always gets into trouble. LOL nice goin’ mom!?!

You got that right Yukoner. I remember times like this from when I was a kid.
Once in my life I had no money at home and to cook for three children. When we should not die all, the only way to earn money, which opened, was to play organ in our church. I didn’t ever know to do it and I sweated the same way like Calvin! I played and I got so much money, that I was able to cook for my children for several days! Now we are alive till today!

Also shades of “Hamlet” by William “Billy Bob Bubba” Shakespeare.
(I’ve long wanted to try that out on some hapless audience, just because I could.)
