Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Youâll be glad when you go into adulthood. Youâll probably tell your kids (if you have any) âwinnning isnât everything, even if your life depends on it.â
is he an Auburn Tiger, a Grambling Tiger, an LSU Tiger, a Princeton Tiger, or one of the hundreds of other Tigers existing in college football? iâd vote Princeton, but i have a bias for those Tigers.
Iâm so sorry to everyone who had a bully story yesterday and thank you for your comments on mine.
Calvin is smart, sometimes you just got to know when to surrender. I know playing with my dogs at times and they got carried away with wanting the ball that Iâve just given it to them rather than lose a finger.
Enjoy those after Christmas sales everyone. Iâm off with my son today to buy his gift of dress work clothes for his new job.
Iâm always amazed by Calvinâs vocabulary. âAmbulatoryâ is quite impressive for a 6 year old! I have freshmen who donât know what the word meansâŠ
In grammar school, I knocked the bully behind me on his a$$ a minute before the teacher returned to the class.
He had been giving me shots for a couple of minutes when I let him have it.
He waited for me after school, but I just stood there , ducking and weaving, and laughing at him while his friends stood around.
He never bothered me again. In fact, a few years later, I left a small party when he came. I let it be known I wouldnât be seen in the same room with him.
GregandHeather, Calvinâs last name is Spiff. Donât know if he has a middle name.
He doesnât have a LAST name, either, Susan. âSpiffâ isnât Calvinâs last name; itâs the FIRST name of one of his imaginary characters, Spaceman Spiff. As I said yesterday, Bill Watterson never bothered to give Calvinâs family a last name (or even first names to his parents), since he simply considered such details irrelevant.
Thatâs also why we never heard from Uncle Max again, incidentally, because Bill realized that heâd never given Calvinâs dad a name, and it was ridiculous to have Uncle Max never call Calvinâs parents by name.
As far as I know, the only character in C & H who had both a first name and a last name was Susie Derkins.

Winning isnât everything, but it beats the hell out of losing.

Calvin has come one step closer to inventing Calvinball: the only game in the world he can win, sort of.

Gad, what pathos!

Actually, in âCalvinballâ the winner is the one who has the lowest score. Hobbs hasnât figured that out yet.
