Marg, do you remember, I told you last year in November, that I don’t like the skull. Since this a full year has passed by! I wonder how fast time passes by!!
Calvin is correct. When I was his about his age and until I was about 6 years older, I would willingly help my playmates across the street with their chores, that was fun. But I ducked my chores at home because they were WORK!
If all the work were to be performed by robots, as we were promised in the ’50s, where would the humans get the money to buy food, much less finance their leisure activities? Or would all that be furnished by The State? Maybe all the humans would be occupied in caring for and servicing the robots.
The Robot’s idea of making the bed might be to destroy the house. After what he did to the car, Calvin had better be REALLY careful this time. Can hardly wait to see what the robot does or looks like. Spiff the Spaceman may need to take an extended visit to the outer planets….
Marg…love the avatar! I have a similar one, but it has flames for hair…it’s on my facebook page….creeps out my students. The longer I teach, the more I realize that Calvin is a pint-sized freshman!
Hello to all and especially Marg! If we could get enough robots in our lives, we could loll away life like the humans in WallE! That would be FUN! Get to it Calvin!

By all means, Calvin, build a robot. Eventually, you will have to make your bed, but you might as well put it off as long as possible. I can relate. I’m the world’s worst procrastinator.

Mom should have asked if he would invent a robot that makes his bed. That is a win-win situation for her ;)

Right on Calvin, I agree.

Inventing a robot
Things needed:
Cardboard box - check Scissors - check Glue - check Pencil - check
You have to draw a face, create limbs and just have to write on the cardboard what it has to do. Then wait.
If nothing happens in 10 minutes your mother will come and make you do the tasks yourself.

If all the year were playing holidays, to sport would be as tedious as to work … William Shakespeare,
Hobbes may be the onto something

A little work now will save a lot of work in the future :-)

This is so true! Reading a book may be fun, but reading a book as homework makes it incredibly boring.

I absolutely HATE the Doonesbury motif around the comics. It’s so distracting.

That’s what happens to most people who make their hobby their business, once they have to do it to make a profit it’s not any fun anymore!
