Test: 1. A class of 30 students is given a pop quiz. If 12 of the students receive F's, what is the percentage of students who likely weren't paying attention during yesterday's lecture? Paige: This teacher has a cruel streak I'm not sure I like. Teacher: I'm noticing about 40 percent you you seem stuck on problem one.

Sheesh, I’m in 6th grade, and I know the answer to that question, the answer is an estimate of 40%, (hey, maybe they paid attention but just got F’s.)

12×3.33=40

It’s probably 40%, but that’s only assuming the people who paid attention the day before got a good night’s sleep and were able to focus, assuming that the people who did not pay attention didn’t know the material, and so on. There are hundreds of random but likely things that could happen.
