Anyone remember Nick Knight of “Forever Knight” fame and “Angel” in the TV series of the same name? Neither of them could turn into a bat. So they’re not all endowed with this ability.
And there’s also “Gilligan’s Island” where in a dream sequence Gilligan, as a vampire, forgets to turn into a bat when he jumps out of a window. That’s a classic.
