Ordinary Basil It was the height of the Industrial Revolution. This was an exciting time for most people, as new and wondrous inventions seemed to appear every day. For others, it was a time of fear, as everything was changing so rapidly. But it just made Basil feel that much more ordinary. His existence seemed even more hum-drum in comparison, so when an opportunity to sail off on an adventure came along, hel leaped at it...literally! "Welcome aboard, laddy," said the perpetually happy gentleman piloting a rather preposterous airship. His baritone voice had a gurgling resonance, as though it came fromteh very depths of the ocean, but was as soothing as the surface breeze. "My name is Professor Angus McGookin. And what might your name be?" "It might be something interesting," the solemn boy replied, "but it's just Basil. I have such an ordinary life, I was even named after a bland herb."
