What does this mean? I don’t get it. Not carry the anvil, if even possible, have to do with standing on it to kill the girl. So he needs it to be tall enough but I still don’t get it. We are supposed to believe he carries an avil around? It wasn’t in the immediately prior panel so he wasn’t carrying it, so he left it in that spot till he has to carry it somewhere else? F…… this stupid crap. I know Mutt and Jeff is fifty years old but it was supposed to be a sensible “joke.”

In response to a poster who said he didn’t get the joke here; here’s my take on it:
He’s so dumb he carries an anvil rather than something lighter to stand on. Love can make a guy strong and stupid like that.
