This happened to Mrs. Tubbsbottl, we were in Mexico. She in the kitchen had just put in a pan of bread pudding. She went to light the oven and blew out the windows of our “casa”. I thank the Gods she was not hurt.
It might be interesting to note that while there are millions of modern homes with modern appliances in Mexico, our humble casa was not one. We had been told when we purchased the house, that the lovely Cardenas era gas stove was easy to light. Mrs. Tubbsbottl did indeed firstly light the igniter then the gas rack. After a moment (perhaps 5 seconds) that is when the door blew out, and the windows of the house taking an opportunity for an instant holiday, followed therewith.
