The second panel makes me think of two other “Garfield” strips. 1) He eats Jon’s steak and tries to cover it with sprayable breath mint and meows cutely at Jon (Jon says he still smells the steak) and 2) he fluffs up his fur and does the Bambi eyes in order to look cute and have Jon’s steak (Jon says something like “Don’t try being cute on m, Garfield. You still can’t have any of my steak).
