There is an old story about a dutch boy (Dutch as in the country of Holland) that saved his town when he noticed a hole it the Dike (If you know what a Levee is that is basically the same thing as a dike. It holds the water back. Think New Orleans in Hurricane Katrina. The city flooded when the levees broke) Anyway the kid stuck his finger in the hole and stayed there all night long til some one found him the next morning and repaired the hole. he was noted as a hero
