Roger: Andy, I can't take this cell phone back! Andy: Why not?! Roger: I signed a long-term contract. That's how I got such a good deal. Andy: Can't you at least trade it in for something smaller? Roger: Look, I promise the minute my Mobytel agreement expires, I'll switch to one of those little flip-top jobbies. You know, the kind Captain Kirk uses. Andy: "Star Trek" takes place in the 23rd century, Roger, what are you saying, Roger?

I am impress that Roger actually knew who is Captain Kirk :D

That is one very long-term contract.
Maybe Roger can opt out now that Motorola and others actually have little flip-top jobbies.

That’s probably why you can’t get a cell phone on an airtime plan without giving a credit card number. People would just walk away from a contract like Roger’s.

This is one time it would be worth it to pay the cancellation fee than to suck it up!

My previous cell phone was a flip phone; my current one also flips, but it covers only the dialing buttons.
In the final panel, why’d Andy say Roger’s name twice?

what’s funny is, that a few years later, people are using “those flip-top jobbies that Captain Kirk uses”

Roger, you were out to buy a phone, not a prop from “The Incredible Shrinking Woman.”
