Laura: Why the sad face, honey? Adam: It's grill decommissioning day. No more seared meat until spring. Laura: Why not? The Salems next door grill all winter. Adam: Oh, Laura. Don't be so naive. I don't dare risk offending the BBQ gods. Laura: BBQ gods? Aren't you the guy who tried to make a breadless cheese sandwish on the grill? Adam: It's not how often you fall down, Laura. It's how often you get up. Laura: If I recall, you were "getting up" burnt cheese from inside the grill for months. Adam: And I'm stronger for it.

I grill year round. And I’d never attempt breadless cheese. What a ditz. Even grilled year round in WY.

Pfft in Canada, you grill year round, and the only time you stop, is when you’re watching “The Good Ol’ Hockey Game!”

Ok I know it’s not the same but we do have a George Foreman grill. You can grill your brats on that. It’s better than freezing outside to do it.

Hey, Macushla Come visit me in south Texas … we’ve had 58 consecutive months without a freeze. Grilling season is from January first to December thirty first.

I’ve grilled when a show drift was 2 feet above the top of the grill. Had to kneel down just to get to the top of the grill. I was in South Dakota at that time.

I grill in the rain. Nothing beats food cooked on the grill. I have a smoker too. MMmm, smoked duck and smoked salmon.

Takiniteasy - Up until last year I spent my winters in Edcouch. Do you live anywhere near there?

Is that some sort of philsophical question … how to you make a breadless sandwich?

I have a cover over my back deck, and in winter I just move my gas BBQ up on the deck and BBQ my little heart out - in summer it goes back on the patio.

In San Diego we have to make sure we put on enough sunscreen in January or we could get a BBQ burn.

And I love the flavor of a grilled turkey for Thanksgiving. Next weekend I’ll be smoking two of them

You mean that’s not how you’re supposed to make grilled cheese?
