That was funny. It’s nice to have a laugh when not much of your busy day has gotten busy. I’m glad I never had to clean 1 of those out or fall from a ladder, etc.
Yep, yep… There’s a pun alert out for Wednesday, whether you’re looking for them or hiding from them…
Cleo makes one on the Nov13 th 2019 “CLEO and COMPANY”
Find it on Sherpa… if you dare.
A slow internet connection is a pain….
but for this occasion….
it lets you sit there, like I did, watching the picture load line by line, top to bottom….
reading the top… with the fellow calling for Ruth…
then the middle…
just knowing what Cleo’s going to say at the bottom…
hoping she won’t…
but knowing she will.
This joke reminds me of a Tom Swifty, for some reason…
anybody here too young to remember those?
Yeah, right.
Too young, my … um… patootie!
You just want to forget them.
Well… I won’t let you.
“Was I supposed to get eggs?” asked Tom listlessly….
“Not a single flower will grow in my garden,” said Tom lackadaisically.
“Ooops, I didn’t know this practice sword was sharp!” cried Tom, disarmingly.
They’re coming back to me… dunno whether to say "Yay! " …. or “Oh no!”
But Ruth…. hmm…. Ruthlessly…. ruthlessly…. oh … I remember.
Not great, but…
“Go get a batter who can hit 60 home runs,” said Tom, Ruthlessly.
Oh come on…. it’s horrible, yes….
but you know you wish you’d said it first.
Plods… once again, you were here 10 years ago….
An opportunity to see yourself coming and going.
“Drain system”…. it sounds… I dunno… unappealingly medical.
But that’s probably not what pushes Reggie’s buttons.
I think he chews it because its there.
Dogs I’ve known have chewed things just because they were protruding… like the little buckles on my shoes that must have either attracted or annoyed my dog….
and that last bit of drainpipe was sticking out right in Reggie’s path to the squirrel tree.

Whoa! Bad doggy!

His Mother was badly frightened by a drain pipe while he was in utero….

Maybe it’s lead poisoning. If not, maybe it could be arranged.

If the squirrels quit running into them, they might still be in one piece

I understand. I find them offensive. Especially
when you have to clean out the leaves.

Reggie is fed up with those Leafguard commercials.

It’s probably all that water gushing out of them, messing up all of Reggie’s carefully marked property.

Okay, now be honest. Didn’t you expect Claude to be the one making that obvious, dreadful pun?

We need a bigger chewing toy.
And/or a serious check-up on his teeth.

We know why he’s ruthless. Ruth wants less to do with him.

Ruth rode on my motorbike
Directly back of me
I hit a bump at sixty-five
And rode on…
Ruthlessly.
