Connie: Hi, Elly! I brought in your paper. Elly: Thanks, Connie. Just put it over there. John will read it when he gets home. Connie: What about you? Elly: I don't have time. After he's done, I just read the headlines. Connie: How come he has time to read the paper and you don't? Elly: His job ends at five.

So true, so true.

Oh, poor suffering Elly! This is getting old, fast. Plenty of women do it all AND work outside the home every day.

Re: Summerdog The FBOFW-strip is NOT about suffering…it is about multi-tasking. This is the one thing that most women have always been able to do naturally, and sadly most guys have to go to college to learn it. Most fail. Anyway, this is a comic-strip and the ARTIST’s choice of venue, so do try not to lose sight of that. And in any case, you have the option of moving on if you don’t like it.

‘Twas always thus. Women’s work is never done even when you live alone!!

A mother’s work is never done!!!

If the husband doesn’t help out a working (outside the home) mother has two jobs and he has one. With two small children even not working outside the home, a mother’s work hours are longer than her husband’s so he should help out.

Anyone notice that Lynn left out the baby-backpack front straps that is holding Elizabeth on her back, in the last panel? You can see Liz’s little head behind Elly. And Liz is supposed to be facing forward, so her face is missing, too.
