And going out with her family will make her day perfect. My idea of perfection too! Lunch out, no dishes AND a movie, with the ones you love best. Happy Mothers Day everyone.♡
I love eating out, but Mother’s Day is the worse day to go to a nice restaurant. I’ve told my family to celebrate my Mother’s Day out on a different day, to avoid all the crowds. Then on the traditional Mother’s Day, we honor my mother - this will probably be the last year to do so, as she is not expected to live too much longer.
This year it is just my other half and I, so we are having a cook out, to honor moving back in to the woods on the hill in the past year. It’s what she wants.
We had a nice Mother’s Day. Mom is confined to bed in her home (my sister lives with her, and others come in to help). We gathered around Mom’s bed for the blessing, and then ate buffet style. A few of my siblings ate in her room, to assist her as she needed. The rest of us sat in the family room adjoining her bedroom, so at least we could be within earshot. Either I or my son took pictures of people with Mom. At least she was awake and coherent most of the time we were there. She’s not talking hardly at all, but hears just fine. It was a bittersweet day, because it has been hard see a independent woman who probably weighed 200+ lbs most of her adult life, shrink down to nothing but skin & bones, and totally helpless. Thankfully, she has not been in pain, and has a very sweet spirit. At least all five of us kids, plus my hubby & sons, were able to come today. (My siblings are single and childless.) My oldest brother lived in AZ until recently, and my sister in NJ until about 3 years ago, so it was the first Mother’s Day we were all able to be with Mom, for many, many years.
RRAmom, what a beautiful tribute to your mother and ALL the family members who came together today. God bless each and every one of you. Your post sure made my day!
RRAmom: What a wonderful gift yuo gave your mother and each other. We spent Mother’s Day in the hospital with Mom. Thankfully, she’s out now, but we are reminded that our time with her is short, and therefore precious.

This one actually made me lol, a rarity when I’m reading comics. A really sweet moment.
My wife went out to the Star Trek movie herself, since we have a toddler.
