Well, you were doing pretty good for the first three panels….

Elly, she’d tell you they were confidential if she wanted to ensure you got the info to someone (by “averages law”) who could help her to deal with these issues.

She may learn a lesson when she finds out Connie and Anne are gossiping about HER.

I guess in that case it evens out, Macush!

When a friend confides, it’s ALWAYS confidential. There need be no confirmation of that.

She makes us women look bad.

It is easy to justify whatever you want to do anyway.

It’s easy for US to criticize, but are we REALLY any better? Let’s be honest here…

Hindsight is always 20-20.

The new illustrations remind me of The Phantom Tollbooth.

Ellie doesn’t put women in a bad light Ash. She’s just being human. Who hasn’t rationalized our behavior at one time or another?

circuit7 The first panel reminds me of Edward Munsch’s “Scream”- minus the scream.

The pangs of conscience are short-lived.

She puts her foot in her mouth for telling anyone about Connie, her neighborly friend’s problems. That is all women’s faults for gossiping too much. Men don’t gossip. hee hee heeeee…. ;-)

Some of us never quite get all the way out of the Middle School Cafetorium. Adolesence is not just a era, its a never ending error.

My guess is that this is an “old” illustration of FBORFW. Elly looks very thin and the hair is done slightly different. And the eyes.

I’ve had to learn the hard way not to gossip. I used to be very bad! But what goes around comes around and when people were gossiping about me I learned how it feels.

Elly’s neck disappears until panel 4, what’s up with that?

Shame on you, Connie!

I guess she did leave the gossip behind in the original storyline – eventually. I wonder if it was a character development decision or of the gossip stuff just stopped being story-interesting.
