My cat, Bogie, does that to me too! If Iâm still sleeping when he thinks I should be up and filling his bowl heâll wack me HARD across the tip of my nose. My husband thinks itâs hystericalâŠme, not so much.
Hi crytomaniac,
That was just a few lines from âAs time goes byâ.
I guess you havenât seen âCasablancaâ.
I liked all the old Bogart movies.
Cheers
Yeah Susan001 itâs a great movie. Wonderful characters and unforgetable lines and all in glorious black and white. So many terrific scenes. My favorite was the farewell at the airport â..the lives of 2 little people donât amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world.â (or something like that).
My favorite Bogart movie though was âThe Maltese Falconâ.
As long as weâre on the subject, I have ALL those âBogieâ pictures youâve mentioned, as well as a few others, like âDark Passageâ and âTo Have and Have Notâ (âYou know how to whistle, donât you, Steve?â). Sorry, no comment on Garfield (except claiming âI was just trying to get foodâ is NOT a legal defense for smacking your spouse - if youâre human)
Havenât seen Casablanca, but plan to⊠and watch for the dialogue that wasnât - âPlay it again, Samâ
Thanks for the info (the others who responded with movie names, as well). My classic movie exposure is limited to Lawrence of Arabia, Gone with the Wind, and some of the Charlton Heston ones, but hope to set some time aside to make up for thisâŠ
You wonât regret it crytomaniac.
The old movies were beautifully acted and subtly filmed. The âspecial effectsâ reflect the technology of the day so have to be viewed in context.
Movies have gotten bigger but I donât think they have gotten better.
These old flicks are so much part of our culture now.
You might like âWeâre no angelsâ where Bogie shows his comedic side.

Thatâs it Garfield. Wake Jon up from his ⊠whatever it is he is doing, other than feeding you.

Iâm going to try and start doing that. It would be perfect way to get food.
Bytheway has anyone noticed how Jons fingers are bigger then his neck?

Garfiel, a sigh is just a sigh. And the fundamental things apply, as time goes by.

At least you can understand the words being sung by the fire.

@Superfrog, Wordsworth youâre not, but I guess itâs the effort that counts. As one of my favourites goes:
Roses are red Violets are blue Most poems rhyme This one doesnât
At least youâve got the rhyming down pat!

If my cat slapped me like that for any reason sheâd be out of here.
No I never did notice before but Jon does have an awfully thin neck doesnât he?

Would that make Jon a âPenciled Neck Geekâ?

garfield in my opinion is about how pointless life really is, people donât like it because nothing happens in it. itâs a strip about nothing.
JosePeterson over 15 years ago
so it would be like the âseinfeldâ of comic strips

The âMaltese Falconâ and âCasablancaâ were both great, but so was âAfrican Queenâ. I also liked âKey Largoâ.
yyyguy over 15 years ago
i vote for âthe big sleepâ as well as âcasablancaâ

If Jon smakced Garfield after Garfield smacked Jon, then thereâd be animal activists at Jonâs front door with the police. Wonât that be a story?

If I were in Garfieldâs shoes, I would smack Jonâs head to make him waking up immediately.
