At the local Farmers’ market. Organic, well-raised, hand-trained, ready for specialized domestication. Puppies too sometimes. Our local “Humane(!) Society” is ’way overstressed. Oh, my, how people love their pets here. V. strangely. Estranged, even.
I wish that would happen more often. It seems it’s never done anymore because people are always trying to make a buck. Nothing’s free, even if the animal has to sit in the pet store for much of it’s life :(. (I’m a guinea pig lover and see the little guys, adults, living their lives in the pet store, even though the price is still $35. For a guinea pig.) Dogs are what, at least $200-$500?
AGHH, really!? I never thought of that but could see that happening. So yeah, I guess I don’t blame you for charging. Gah, it’s so sad that you can’t even trust people enough to give them a kitten anymore :(
