    This is true to life. You’re happy to have survived the storm, but the material damage still hurts.

    Here in the Pacific Northwest, we don’t get hurricanes like the folks down south. But we usually get at least one pretty healthy windstorm every year in the winter.

    The last couple of years we’ve had storms with wind gusts around 100 mph, which turned trees with shallow roots (like Douglas firs) and wood utility poles into cruise missiles, and caused extensive flooding along the Oregon coast. Damage like what Mr. G depicts in his strip today is commonplace.

    Here in north Georgia, we could use five or six tropical depressions to get rid of this drought and fill Lake Lenier back up to ocean status.

    Am for the Caribbean so when i say ” chaz u ain’t see nothing yet…” i know what am saying…cause i have experience 5 hurricane….
