Pooch Cafe by Paul Gilligan for July 30, 2009
Transcript:
Poncho: Okay, let's get Plankie out of the tree. Kidnapper: I can't reach the rope. I'll just cut the tree branch. Poncho: But wait, what if that tree branch is like someone else's Plankie? This could become a vicious circle! Kidnapper: Hmm, yeah. I guess you never know what dumb little thing is going to be important to someone. Man: My Porsche 900 Turbo!!

So what happen to Plankie, it was not visable on the last panel?
wolfhoundblues1 over 15 years ago
I would park my car under a tree with 2 dogs in it, one with a saw, at night. Wouldât you?
prasrinivara over 15 years ago
Eh, I think you (porsche-owner) can afford to get it fixed under comp & deductible!

What is a Porsche 900?
alondra over 15 years ago
That porshe was not there in the previous comics. So this bozobrain parked it there later on. Anyone who parks his porsche under a plank of wood deserves what he gets.

I have been sharing your recipe with my chums, and I thing I am a hero. (Sooooo many thanks!)
Re. The Porsche (900 series) No true lover of the Porsche would leave it under a tree branch especially with Plankie hanging above. The fellow seems to deserve what he gets. Sadly so is the great car destroyed.

If âBranch Dogâ canât reach the rope (in first panel), then who tied the rope out there in the first place?

fristname - fishy???
QjKq83L over 15 years ago
Frist of all, I have to say that I believe the name of the fish in this strip is âFish.â Fishy is the character in the Ollie and Quentin strip by Piers Baker. See
http://piersbaker.blogspot.com/2008/06/fishy.html
Now that weâve got that confusion cleared up, I donât see how any fish (from this strip or any other) could get out of his fish bowl and tie that rope up in the tree. Please explain.
Secondarily yours, Fristname

Clearly, Orlando has stolen Plankie and left the other two holding the saw.

fristname - I am chastisedâŠ
Please note that âfishyâ was not capitalized - not meant for proper name. Some thing is fishy, no?
Also, in the comic realm, many critters have other than believable powers. Look at âTwo Cows and a Chickenâ, âLioâ, âMythtickleâ, etc. It is always fun to speculate on the comicâs creatorsâ direction.

Why park on the grass?
franniesmom over 15 years ago
Plankie seems to be lying on ground near the left rear tire of the deceased porche. Can it be that in the fit to leave, Plankie gets ârun overâ? OOH OOH
mrsullenbeauty over 15 years ago
Love it! That guyâs probably one of those jerks who parks his vehicle sideways in a parking lot so no one can park next to him.
keeleyg over 15 years ago
Now some poor âPorcheâ has a Plankie over it not under it. So sad.
Again, Paul I ask âWhere is Fish.â
