    I grew up with the Hodder & Stoughton collections from the early 70’s. This is one of the earliest strips I remember.

    This was a not-terribly exaggerated version of what you could expect to see on comics stands in the early 50s, before the notorious Senate hearings and the advent of the Comics Code Authority.

    This is also the chronologically earliest strip that was published in the old Fawcett paperbacks.
