Lucy stands afar watching questioningly as Charlie Brown bends over with a coin in his hand. He complains, "A penny! Rats! Why couldn't I have found a nickel?!" He adds, "What good is a penny these days?!"<BR><BR> He walks off muttering, "Why do things like that always happen to me?!"<BR><BR> She watches him go and says, "Gee, he found a penny! I saw him! He found a penny!"<BR><BR> She walks off asking, "Why don't things like that ever happen to me?"<BR><BR>

Wow one of the few times Lucy is optimistic. What do you wanna bet she runs after him and pins him down and screams till he give her it.

If he’s saying “what good is a penny these days” back in 1952, it was a good thing we discontinued the penny a couple years ago.

I don’t know about 1952 but in 1962 I could get to large pretzel sticks for a penny.
