Snoopy thinks, "The vulture peers . . ."<BR><BR> Snoopy leaps at Linus and thinks, "He swoops!"<BR><BR> Snoopy lands on his head behind Linus<BR><BR> Linus carries Snoopy back to the doghouse. Snoopy thinks, "Rats! How humiliating!"<BR><BR> Snoopy lies on his doghouse and thinks, "A good vulture hates to accept charity!"<BR><BR>

Snoopy should call himself an eagle or hawk. A vulture is not a predator, but a savager. I once saw an injured skunk crawl into the middle of a field behind my trailer and stop there. Vultures swooped down and landed around the skunk but did not go near it for the four hours it took for the skunk to die. Once it had died the dinner bell was rung.
