I know JUST how Charlie Brown feels; even though you know what you’re hoping at the moment, is nothing more than “pipe dreams,” in other words, that the chances of your hopes coming true are pretty much ZILCH, you still cling to that faint glimmer of hope anyway.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Charlie Brown, and, happy 50th anniversary, of this cartoon! Yes, it was indeed, published 50 years ago, today—Friday, February 14, 2014, as I post this comment. It just hit me, that this would have been published, in fact, right after the Beatles arrived here in America, from England, and then launched their big career, which they became famous for.

Well at least when they became big in America as they’d already been around for several years. I was too young to be aware of the Beatles, or even of Peanuts, back then but now over 52 years later the Beatles and Peanuts are still widely famed and I just listened to some of their music today and read a few Peanuts strips.
