I like the ? bird more than the ! bird. I hope and trust that the ! bird threw the first punch.

Interesting. Though they came into the strip in the wrong order, these birds’ signs read what might be the shorted correspondence in history; that between Victor Hugo and his editor after the release of Les Mis. Hugo sent “?” and his editor replied “!”
