Sally smiles and skips rope.<BR><BR> Sally continues skipping rope.<BR><BR> Sally suddenly stops smiling and stops skipping.<BR><BR> Sally suddenly begins to wail.<BR><BR> Linus comes running and says, "What's the matter Sally? What happened? Why are you crying?"<BR><BR> Sally says, "I don't know . . ."<BR><BR> Sally continues, "I was jumping rope . . . Everything was all right . . . when . . . I don't know . . ."<BR><BR> Sally says, "Suddenly it all seemed so futile!"<BR><BR>

She’s right. What’s the point of jumping over the rope? It just comes back around again.

This was adapted into the stage musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”. Initially, Patty replaced Sally. Sally returned in the 1999 revival.
