I looked up the Bible quote in question once,and Linus’name is indeed mentioned in it. You can tell he really is flattered about it,his expression in Panel 3 tells it all.

The St. Linus (c. 10-c. 76) mentioned in the New Testament is also considered by the Catholic Church as the second Pope, after St. Peter.
