I know Lucy’s cookie breaking as she dunks it in Linus’ milk is one of the punchlines, but still, what are the odds of that happening in reality? Linus’ expression in fifth panel and the exclamation point seem to indicate he knows that his milk is “doomed.”

And again, if an animated version of this strip was made, no doubt you’d hear funny music at the end(just like on Sesame Street)-Lucy, in closing panel:“Never cry over sludged milk!” Then, audio: Wipwip, wipwipwipwip. WIP!!! (“never cry over sludged milk”; can’t you JUST picture Ernie telling Bert that, or Cookie Monster saying it to Ernie, for that matter, on Sesame Street?)considering Ernie’s sick kick out of hurting Bert, and same difference with CM to Ernie.

Pour yourself another glass of milk, Linus, and lesson learned, about letting Lucy dunk a cookie, or worse yet, a doughnut, in your milk.

Good grief, Linus, just try to drink it! It’s even more delicious!

I have dunked Oreos in milk and lost them in the milk. I would fish the cookie out with fingers first. If that failed, drink the milk until Oreo is in my mouth.

Run for a spoon! Also, I love Lucy’s expression in Panel 7.
