I bet there are lots of Pluggers like me and Mr arceedee, we never wanted an icemaker at all - too cheap to get any appliance with ‘fancy’ bells and whistles that might need a repairman.

prasrinivara, as a kid in the 60’s that’s all I remember. They had a lever you pulled up on to release the ice.

Sometimes the lever bent….fingers stuck to the trays, too.

Personally, I prefer the aluminum, but they’re hard to find nowadays! It’s fun to pull up that handle! (and I’m how old . . :-D)
