That’s my Dad up on that machine. He died in 1976 at the young age of 64.

My deepest condolences, cabrobst. My dad died in 2002 at the slightly younger age of 63. That’s what a lifetime of smoking gets you … and, unfortunately, your family too.

Under MSHA (the Mine Safety and Health Administration) rules, our Plugger should have ear protection (plugs or muffs). eye protection (safety glasses or goggles), and repiratory protection (respirator or supplied air mask) in addition to that good old brain bucket. This Old Plugger worked in the mines, and is still kickin’ at 70 years plus.

If the machine was a high track, it would be my dad. He still runs a dozer to this day. Surprisingly, I can run his machine and several others. That’s what you get for bing an only girl and tagging alone after your dad.
