Earl is going to work on Gertie’s self-esteem. She seems to think she only had one chance at happiness.

Ooops! I thought I’d called up Gasoline Alley. What strip is this? Can’t take much more of whatever this is!

So are you going to teach her to dance Earl?

I wonder if they’re going back to the Savoy or somewhere else.

Geeze, how old are you commenters anyway? About time we added some new blood to the strip. After all, remember how old GA is anyway. Way before your time, I expect.

I’m sorry you guys don’t like this story. I’m enjoying it and Scancarelli’s wonderful artwork.

Please God, no Joel and Rufus.

I’ll take this over Slim and/or Rufus, and from yesterday’s comments it appears we’re in for one or the other next week. Wish Jim would bring back some of the missing cast members. What is Chipper’s family up to? we haven’t seen them in a looong time.

As Walt’s biological clock ticks ever toward the midnight hour, it appears we are going to be “treated” to another date between Bird and Gertie.

I’m not saying this is a bad comic or anything; I’m just saying they need to change the name if they are going this direction.

But as someone has noted: “At least it’s not Rufus.”

So many have passed through Gasoline Alley in ninety years, I think there’s no reason to change the name. I applaud Jim for taking a risk with some new characters. I’ve enjoyed this current stretch.

I’ve been reading GA since 1964, and I think this is one of the best storylines in a long time. It’s far better than anything ever with Joel&Rufus, and I never much cared for Rover or Amanda Lynn & co. either. And it certainly beats the Slim & the meteor, or whatever it was.
