A Dennis-The-Meance-ism, serenasakitty (Dennis is long known for being able to eat most veggies with catsup–but compaining royally if it’s absent).

(American version by Hank Ketcham, not coincidentally-timed Brit version in Beano)

I hate it when my husband puts ketchup or bbq sauce on things, that means he thinks it’s boring and needs to be livened up.

The name Ketchup comes from the Chinese word, ‘Ke-Tsiap’…which roughly translates as ‘kill taste’.

bbq sauce, Macush? Why would he want to put something on which both smells and tastes putrid?

Wouldn’t suds (or gin) be more apt than ketchup, given that it’s a UK strip?

Just feed it to the dog under the table - worked just fine for ME for 18 yrs. O’ course, I went thru a mess o’ mongrels that way……..Mom’s unMentionably Murderous Meatloaf was downright LETHAL!

Risitas, Fred isn’t that dumb–he’ll do a credible Roger Bannister impersonation if dad tries that!

@prasrinivara What’s with the esoteric dated reference. The first man to run the mile in less than 4 minutes is not common knowledge. I had to look it up to get the joke. BTW, Roger Bannister is currently 80 years old.

pookid54, that’s a great offer, but i am trying … my son even tolerates my meatloaf, i know it’s the easiest thing in the cookbook to make, but i’ve been known to mess it up
