About the language issue: My theory is that the foreign henchmen ARE speaking
their own language. The comic’s writers are being very considerate to us English-speaking readers by providing us the translation. This often comes out sounding
stilted and weird – each language has its own syntax conventions and dialects, word ordering, sentence structure, slang, etc, that doesn’t cross cleanly into other languages, especially if you’re just doing a quick-and-dirty word-for-word translation.
