Well I mentioned Gen Smedley Butler two days ago.

His book was called “War is a Racket”.

Grimm is some weird mixture of right and left.

And Oliver W is the only defense industrialist in US history to lose money in the biz.

    How does he do it?

With a name like Warbucks, one can readily see he only has the best interests of his country at heart.

Depends on what you are trying to win: The battles? The territory? Regime change? The hearts and minds of the people? Big piles of money from the govt(s) that you’re selling weapons to? There can be lots of different goals

TGB: those are premium, handwrapped Dominican cigars grown on a special piece of land from plants smuggled out of Cuba after Castro’s takeover just for Warbucks and they certainly do NOT stink. They are actually good for you and will put hair on your chest (so women may not want to smoke them).

If you would actually educate yourself about the extreme complexities of politics, economics, technological logistics, and how they’re interconnected in the long run which require hundreds if not thousands of pages to explain and have a just and pragmatic plan and realize that thinking of future generations when calculating pragmatic utilitarianism is what that seperates us from the animals you would realize that the extreme left AND the extreme right are wrong about most of what they believe though they both get very few things right. They both get caught up in their ideals and refuse to ackowledge brutal facts of reality.

You are not going to get everything handed to you on a silver platter it takes endless study and hard work all day every day sometimes generations.

People want rasberries in winter, we want to drive large expensive (safer) gas guzzlers it’s economical, there are flyting cars but not enough people could afford them and even if they could not enough have pilot’s licenses

If you don’t have a pragmatic plan that takes politics, economics, etc into account I’m not saying to shut up point out injustices but at least try to educate yourself on the entire viewpoints

But given Daddy’s usual high-handed, above-the-law approach to most things, I doubt he would think twice about having a supply of Cuban cigars brought to him here in the good old US of A.

Joe Alan Doty said: “According to how Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks looks, smoking cigars might put hair on a man’s chest; but, it will make him as bald as “Mr. Clean,” too.”

Still he looks pretty good for a guy who made his original pile in World War I … or before. Not to mention how many times he’s died over the years (notably in 1945 after Roosevelt was elected for the fourth time. And Annie doesn’t look bad for a kid who’s over 85 years old. Obviously all that cigar smoke has stunted her growth, but still.

I do agree with Giant Brain though - if those aren’t Cubans I’ll eat my hat. Remember JFK laid in a huge stock of the things the day before he imposed the embargo on Cuba.

Olliver is a war profiteer, smokes cigars around his kid, and has no qualms about either. Gotta love him. Oh, remember he lives in Mexico, of course he loses money with his defense spending.
