Someone ought to hand this information over to Michele Bachmann so she can begin her witch hunt.

I find it so hilarious how so many americans call a progressive tax or redistribution of wealth socialism, these are such natural elements of the modern state that it’s hard to believe such backwards thinking, great strip today.

McCarthy was a senator from Wisconsin, not California.

Brendon: But Nixon was a Senator from California (from 1951 to 1953, and a House Representative before that).

Brendon, the cartoonist is obviously referring to Nixon, because McCarthy never served as a congressman; his first federal-level office was as a senator, and Nixon was also something of a commie-hunter at the time.

My state is one of those that sends more tax money to the feds than it gets back. Alaska is #1 in getting more than it gives.

What amazes me is the vitriol spewed about the comment that paying taxes is patriotic. Is it being suggested that tax evasion is patriotic (as opposed to, say, felonious)? If as much time was spent ensuring that tax money was spent wisely and fairly as is spent whining about the fact of taxes, we might be in a better financial position.
