bald, that reminds me of what oft happened in the home of one of my cousins, who had owned a boxer (which happened to be dumber than a box of rocks) in the 1979-1982 timeframe.
Her son (born in 1978) did considerable abuse to the animal:
riding him as if he was a horse
leading him by nostrils with an imaginary bridle (much worse)
