I prefer Gatwick as well. No matter how jet-lagged I am, I can make my way from there to Victoria Station to my hotel. Paddington is an okay station, but I prefer Victoria.
In the US, the FAA has minimized holding patterns by not letting airplanes take off until the destination airport looks as if it can accommodate them. Of course, the FAA also decrees that once they get in line to take off they have to stay in line until they get clearance for takeoff or, if they return to the gate, to go back to the beginning of the line, but hey, it’s the airlines that get blamed for the long waits on the tarmac.

Should have gone with Gatwick, far superior when one has the choice don’t you think?

I’m sure other airports have their problems, too. This holiday, we’re flying from a local airport. I still expect delays.

Do the airports have stock in jet fuel companies?
