There is a gardening book called “The $64 Tomato”. Homegrown almost always tastes much better, but it may cost a whole lot more – especially for the beginner who has to get all the supplies. Still, cost effective or not, I love my homegrown tomatoes! (But I don’t have raised beds or a watering system – unless the hose I drag out there counts!
