Solipsism (as a philosophical theory, not as a psychotic delusion) IS ridiculous, but it CAN’T be disproven. The only way we can experience existence is solipsistically, whether through sensory input or imaginative thought; we “are” our minds, nothing more.
But LBreader, your supposition that, were you (for instance) the Dreamer and the rest of us the Dream, things would be better than they currently are assumes that it’s your conscious mind which is calling the shots. To pose a parallel question: Dreams are merely constructs of our minds, so why do we have nightmares?
