I know an elementary school principle who was a big teddy bear. The older kids would stand in front of his desk with face down, and the younger kids would come around the side and look up at him with big, puppy dog eyes–they knew he couldn’t stay mad at them if they were cute…

SPANK? Is that word still in our vocabulary? I remember in Jr. High School boys would get swats with a paddle occasionally and every now and then (the 40’s) a few of the brave boys would trade off swats with the gym coaches.

A lesson Calvin needs to learn that one piece taught me “When does a man die? When he is hit by a bullet? No! When he suffers a disease? No! When he ate a soup made out of a poisonous mushroom? No! A man dies when he is forgotten!”
