Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for August 22, 1987
Transcript:
Calvin: C'mon, Hobbes. Let down the rope ladder. Hobbes: What's the rest of the password? Calvin: I think five verses extolling tigers is plenty. You know it's me! Let me up! Hobbes: Ooh, why you lousy, rotten, stinking... Hobbes: If you call me names, you have to start over at the begining. Calvin: Verse six: "Tigers are nimble, and light on their toes, my respect for tigers continually grows." Hobbes: You're not doing the dance.

Calvin: he can talk the talk, and walk the walk, and even say the verses extolling tigers, but he’s not gonna dance the dance nohow.

That “REspect” reminds me of Pogo somehow.
